My drawings and paintings: a passion for the face

Discovering the art of drawing the face is a fascinating artistic adventure. During our course, we'll delve into this captivating world by learning to master proportions, textures, contrasts and, above all, the magic of volume through colour and transparency.

Understanding the proportions of the face is essential for creating realistic and expressive portraits. We'll look in detail at the different parts of the face, from the nose to the eyes and mouth, and learn how to arrange them harmoniously to capture likeness and emotion.

Managing textures and contrasts will add an artistic dimension to your portraits. You will discover how to render the different surfaces of skin, hair and clothing realistically, while playing with light and shadow to create striking effects.

The magic of volume through colour and transparency will be at the heart of our artistic exploration.

Using watercolour, you'll learn how to layer colours to bring skin to life, create transparency effects for bright eyes, and use colour to sculpt the face and give a sense of three-dimensionality.

For inspiration and guidance, here are a few examples of watercolours created at the workshop.
