Discover the World of Drawing: An Artistic Adventure by Hand

Drawing by hand is a fascinating form of artistic expression that lets you capture the world around you with a pencil, charcoal, ballpoint pen or black felt-tip brush.

Learning this skill opens the doors to creating emotional portraits, authentic depictions of animals, detailed drawings of objects, and captivating architectural sketches.

What's more, drawing is a powerful way to develop your understanding of volumes, shadows and textures.

Drawing tools

Before you start, it's essential to familiarize yourself with the tools you'll need:

Pencils: Pencils are the designer's basic tool. HB, 2B and other pencil hardnesses vary according to the depth of the line. 2B and HB pencils are ideal for sketching and outlining subjects.

Charcoal: Charcoal is excellent for creating soft shadows and rich textures. It's ideal for adding volume to your drawings.

Ballpoint pens: Ballpoint pens are ideal for quick sketches, fine details and sharp contours.

Black felt-tips: Black felt-tips are ideal for strong, clean lines, as well as for adding striking detail.

We'll learn how to sketch quickly, then understand shadows and volumes, and explain how to make rapid progress during our 3-day course.

Two options are available:

Either in residence: accommodation in an artist's bastide with meals included
